How does BonBanane work?

A sender posts a pickup and drop-off in Montréal. BonBanane shows travellers whose route already passes those points, the sender picks one, and the delivery can then be followed from pickup to drop-off in the app.

How do I send an item?

Open the demo, go to Send an Item, describe the parcel, choose pickup and drop-off neighbourhoods and a time window, then review the suggested carriers and send a request to the one you prefer.

Go to Deliver, enter the trip you're already making, and browse the available deliveries that fit that route. You can open a job to see the details and accept it.

How are users verified?

In the current demo, carrier profiles display verification badges and ratings as sample data. Real identity checks are not performed yet, so nothing on the site should be treated as a verified identity.

How does route matching work?

Matching compares the sender's pickup and drop-off points with the traveller's existing route across Montréal neighbourhoods and surfaces the trips with the smallest detour. In the demo this runs on mock trips and mock carriers.

Prices shown in the demo are illustrative amounts based on distance and parcel size. No payments are processed and no money changes hands anywhere on this site.

What items can and can't be sent?

BonBanane is meant for everyday parcels: documents, small electronics, clothing, books, groceries and similar goods. Illegal items, weapons, drugs, hazardous or perishable-critical goods, live animals and anything a courier could not legally carry are out of scope.

Can I track my delivery?

Yes — each delivery has a tracking page with a Montréal map, the route and a status timeline from accepted to picked up, in transit and delivered. In the demo the movement is simulated rather than live GPS.

Is BonBanane available throughout Montréal?

The demo covers central Montréal neighbourhoods such as the Plateau, Downtown, Mile End, Griffintown, Rosemont and Verdun. It is not an operating service outside of this demonstration.

How are users rated?

After a delivery is completed, senders and carriers can leave a star rating that appears on the profile alongside completed-delivery counts. The ratings currently shown are sample data.
